5 Month Stats

We got a little behind on Kenlee's Dr. visits with the move and all, so she didn't get her two month shots until three months and her four month shots until five months. Well, almost five months. Her appointment was yesterday and she'll be five months in five days. So I'm counting these stats as her five month stats.
HC: 44cm
Length: 26 in
Weight: 18lbs 5oz
She is in the 90-95 percentile in each of these.

My friend Tricia Clonts Bastian came for a visit recently and took this picture of Kenlee and I.

I snapped these one night while the light was so perfect! Look at this sweet face...such a tender moment with Daddy.
Seriously peeps, we've got a chubby, delicious baby on our hands! While Grandma Walters was here she got Kenlee a "Jenny Jump Up". It took her a few days to get the hang of it, but now she loves it! She goes to town in that thing whenever I put her in it. When she needs a little rest from jumping she chews on the front.

She rolls all the time now. When she's on her tummy she gets up on her hands and knees and kind of wiggles. I swear she'll be crawling before we know it! She can sit on her own for a little bit at a time before she tips over. When she babbles it sounds like she's saying mamamama and dadadada. What's even cuter is that when she's happy she says dadadadad. But when she's upset or she needs something she says mamamama. Obviously she doesn't really know, but it's so cute! She sleeps pretty good through the night with only one or two feedings. Nap time...is a joke. She usually only sleeps for like 30 minutes at a time, occasionally an hour....*sigh*. We're working on it. She has actually started EATING the rice cereal! She has it twice a day. Yesterday I added a little squash to it and she wouldn't eat any. It was really funny. I'll have to keep trying and introducing a little bit of vegetable at a time.

The other day she was walking around in the walker and she came to the vacuum. It was so funny because she literally backed up and then went around it very slowly staring it down! It was so hilarious! I wish I had gotten a video.

Randon grew his beard out again, and she loves to touch it! It's so sweet to watch her pat and squeeze her Daddy's face, trying to figure out why it's hairy!
She is smiley and giggly and sweet and adorable! We are so blessed to have her!

Mom Walters Visit

Mom Walters came for a visit this past week and it was wonderful! It's so nice to have a friend to visit with during the day. She was so helpful with dishes, and snuggly with Kenlee. We just LOVED having her here! While she was here, there was a fall/craft festival at the lighthouse just down the road from our house. We checked out little vendors, and got to actually go inside the lighthouse.

Inside the Lighthouse. On top of the Lighthouse. This is Cedar Point, it is the largest collection of Roller Coasters in the world.

It is SO BEAUTIFUL here this time of year. (We actually have seasons.) We also got to go to Kirtland. It was so amazing. There is so much rich church history there! Here are a few of the things we saw on our tours.

The Newel K. Whitney Store.
We came to Kirtland straight from Stake Conference, which is why we are in our Sunday clothes. I knew we would be doing a lot of walking, which is why I'm wearing tenny's. Don't judge.
Inside the store.
The Revelation Room (In the upstairs of the store). There was a Missionary Couple giving us the tour, and another Missionary Couple on the tour learning how to give it, because they would be doing it soon. After his shpill about the room the Man said, "You want to touch that table don't you?" It was the original table where Joseph Smith had received revelation, translated the book of mormon, and seen visions. So I touched it. Randon told me later that his wife whispered to the other sister that they weren't actually supposed to let people touch it. I thought that was sort of funny. :)
Also up there is the School of the Prophets. I didn't get a picture, but we got to sit in there and read powerful testimonies of people who had seen God the Father there. It was a really neat experience.
The Ashery. (The sawmill was next to it but I didn't get a picture because my battery died).
I took this looking from the Ashery out. So Beautiful there!
The Temple. This was difficult for Mom and I. We had just come from a really neat place where we had felt the spirit and learned about what enormous sacrifices these people made, especially for the Temple. But it just didn't feel the same. I didn't feel the spirit here, it made me feel so sad. But it was a beautiful building that these saints with no prior experience had built because it was SO important to them.

Another day, while she was here, we went to the beach. We took lunch and chairs and just enjoyed the gorgeous weather. I stuck my feet in for about three seconds and then went back to my chair, but she enjoyed the water for awhile.

We had a super annoying seagull that would NOT go away. So we took turns chasing it.

Also, since Randon has this thing for unicorns. She made us all Unicorn hats. Pretty AWESOME! Kenlee looks absolutely adorable in hers! Love it!

Eating and Sleeping.

I fed Kenlee some rice cereal today...what a laugh! I don't think she swallowed one bit, but she sure enjoyed the spoon. And I got some really cute pictures of how much she...*liked* it. :)

No thanks Mom, I would rather just have the spoon if that's alright.
She has started sleeping through the night, with just one feeding in the wee morning hours...like 4 or 5 but then she goes right back to sleep for several hours. This mama has been one happy girl! I don't know what to do with all this sleep! (I wish I could store it up). She has some pretty silly sleeping positions. She usually sleeps like this.I found her like this the other day during her nap on my bed....

I have to put pillows around her so she doesn't roll off the bed or bump her head on the wall.
Don't worry, I checked to make sure she was breathing before I took this picture.

Detroit!

We went to Detroit this weekend to visit Rachel and Allen and to go to the Temple. It was a lovely, though very short visit. I had to be back to sing at a RS thing. We weren't even gone from home 24 hours. But we had a marvelous time. Rachel and Allen are gracious, kind, generous hosts and we felt most welcome and at home there. After an amazing Italian dinner, Rachel and I made some frosting for this bad boy...So rich...so delicious...In case you don't know, my cousin Rachel is a bit of a chocoholic. This sign sits in her kitchen.Isn't she a doll?Saturday Randon and I headed to the Temple.
Since Kenlee still won't take a bottle we can't stay away for very long. So we did some initiatory's and headed back. But not before taking some silly pictures, of course.

We plan on going to Detroit at least once a month for a visit and a Temple Trip. We hope the next one is a little longer so we can see some of Detroit and do other fun things. I love having someone close by! :)

A few more fun tidbits about (almost) 4 month old...

Weight- 16lbs 4oz
Length- 25 in
And I always forget to ask what her head circumference is. She is in the 90-95th percentile in these categories. We have a big beautiful baby! She got her first shots and did so well. Mostly she just screamed because she didn't want me to put her down. As soon as I picked her back up she stopped screaming and even smiled at the nurse.
She now walks in her walker, instead of just scooting. She rolls over! She smiles, giggles, and babbles a lot. She recognizes Mommy and Daddy. She has the cutest chicky soft hair. She chews on everything. When she's on her tummy she uses her legs to scoot herself along the floor or crib (dragging her face and hands). It's so cute! She'll be crawling before we know it! The recent favorite, though, is that she discovered her toes! So when we lays on her back, she lifts her legs up and holds on to her toes! It's so adorable! And of course, she get's more and more beautiful every day! If that's even possible... :)
