Rough Day (sigh)

Okay so maybe it's that I'm PMSing, maybe it's that my job is really frustrating, maybe it's that I'm getting the 'Ready for Summer Blues'....or maybe today was just a rough day (sigh). My drama kids are supposed to put on a play next Tuesday...but they're not anywhere near ready and I'm getting sooooo frustrated about it. I keep telling myself, "Stay calm, for most of these kids it's their first time acting at all, let alone in a full production." But it's so hard for me that even after FOUR months of rehearsal after rehearsal...some kids still aren't memorized. So now I'm getting tough on them! And I feel a little bad about it, but then I think, "If I don't get tough, then nothing will get done!" Right? Uuuuughhh! It's not that I'm a perfectionist, or OCD, but come on? My friend at school calls me a "Rules Girl". Things need to get in this amount of time or I'm gonna bring out Miss Tough Guy! I think the worst part of it is, I've been working my rear end off! And my kids come to rehearsal and piddle around and then act like they don't care and it's no big deal that they don't know their cues or lines! If I were in a show and I knew I had less than a week, and my lines weren't memorized, I'd been freaking out! Why don't they care? Okay so really I just needed to vent. I know....well....I hope that they will be able to pull it together and that it goes great and I'm proved wrong. But until then, it's stomach aches and restless leg for me!

Happy Birthday to me!!!!

Okay so excuse me for tooting my own horn....but everyone knows how important 23 is right? Just kidding, big stinking deal. It feels the same as 20, 21, and 22. But I had a super fun weekend with my family! My sisters all came to Tucson on Thursday to go wedding dress shopping for Dena. We found one and she looks beautiful. But we had soo much fun. It's the first time we've been together just us sisters for a long time. Then I went back to Safford and enjoyed the weekend with my fam. When I got home there was a big package of gifts from Randon's family. Saturday night we had a little party with some couples from the ward. It was really fun.

Milwaukee!

My school sent me, another teacher, and two students to Milwaukee for the MENC National Music Conference. We had a really good time. I remembered how much I HATE to fly, though. Despite that, I learned a lot at the conference and was able to listen to really awesome choirs sing, really beautiful music. I am surprised every time I hear a choir sing, how much music really touches me. I was moved to tears during a song called, "Fare thee well, Love". It was so beautiful. I also went to several sessions about show choirs and sight reading and just good stuff. On one of the days, we walked all around downtown and looked at all the beautiful buildings and we went to see Lake Michigan. It was really a good time.Me in the Conference (that's my badge)The African Children's Choir....Amazing!!!Just a cool picture of Wisconsin Ave.

walking, I just flopped on my bed!

Our flight left at 6:00 in the morning Milwaukee time,
so 4:00 in the morning Arizona time. We had to get up
at 2:30 Arizona time to be at the airport on time. We were exhausted!
